➡ The National Academy of Sports Medicine calls this the “low-hanging fruit” of keeping your metabolism fired up.

All you have to do is find simple ways to sneak activity into your day:

👉Stand instead of sit.
👉Get up every 30-60 minutes to stretch or take a brief walk (even if it’s just to the printer or water fountain!).
👉Find ways to add activity to your evenings – could be as easy as 15 extra mins of chores! Turn on some music to make them more fun. Have a mini dance party!

💡I know these sound really simple, but the fact is, when all else fails it’s super helpful to go back to the basics!

🔥 Non-exercise-activity thermogenesis (NEAT) is one of your body’s MAJOR calorie burners. Staying active as much as possible during the day will go a long way towards accelerating your results.

Have been meaning to ask this for a while.
Been missing the pair of 14kg hex dumbbells since we reopened.
I believe they were borrowed over the last lockdown and not returned yet.
It’s the only bit of kit still outstanding and the only bit I don’t seem to have a record of who borrowed.
If you still have them it would be great if you could let me know or drop in to the studio sometime.

What's your 'Black Bag'?

My black bag is often a situation based, life has thrown a lesson into my path and it feels insurmountable. Someone very close to me sees their disability as their 'black bag'.

It could be a controlling and suffocating person in your life?

Is it a death of a loved one that you feel in the dark with?

Maybe it is your own headspace and thoughts that are your 'black bag' they keep you feeling fearful or isolated. Sometimes the darkness can be resentment or anger you are holding on to.

I guess as we move through life we might have experienced most of these 'black bags'.

The black bag can be toxic to your health if you stay in it too long, it keeps you stuck in a dark or sad place but what you need to remember and embrace is the power of your human spirit. Like the plant it learns, adapts, grows, changes and slowly emerges and eventually the black bag becomes a key experience but it does not define you. It becomes part of your path and you value it's presence because it taught you resilence and you may have even come out the other side with a deeper understanding of love and acceptance.

Just don't stay in there too long. Reach out. Resilence is hard won and empowering.

Whats your Black Bag?
